  189.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild

  194.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  195.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  196.  files in a window.  After the window is
  197.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  198.  pressing the space bar.  After all files
  199.  have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  200.  process the tagged files.
  201.  
  202. *altc  !!add/update comments!!
  203.  This option will allow you to add or
  204.  update the compressed file comments.
  205.  
  206. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  207.  This option will delete all files that
  208.  are contained in the compressed file
  209.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  210.  one specified via the ALT-P command.
  211.  
  212. *alte  !!extract list!!
  213.  This option allow you to specify which
  214.  files to extract from the compressed
  215.  file. You may specify more the one
  216.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  217.  cards are allowed.
  218.  
  219. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  220.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  221.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  222.  of files in a window.  After the window
  223.  is displayed you tag the files to
  224.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  225.  After all files have been tagged press
  226.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  227.  files.
  228.  
  229. *altg   !!search for string!!
  230.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  231.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  232.  characters using the program FGREP.COM
  233.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  234.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  235.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  236.  completed to results will be listed on the
  237.  screen.
  238.  
  239. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  240.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  241.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  242.  of files in a window.  After the window
  243.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  244.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  245.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  246.  key to process the tagged files.
  247.  
  248. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  249.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  250.  files from the compressed file into the
  251.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  252.  via the ALT-P command.
  253.  
  254. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  255.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  256.  and directory of where any extracted files
  257.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  258.  follows:
  259.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  260.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  261.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  262.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  263.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the enter
  264.  key.
  265.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  266.  use it's floating extract location
  267.  logic.
  268.  
  269. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  270.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  271.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  272.  the window pops up enter the first
  273.  character of the file you wish to find.
  274.  The display will be repositioned to the
  275.  first file in the list that starts with
  276.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  277.  stored in random order sort the list
  278.  first)
  279.  
  280. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  281.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  282.  the tagged file display line at the
  283.  bottom of the screen.
  284.  
  285. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  286.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  287.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  288.  of files in a window.  After the window
  289.  is displayed you tag the files to
  290.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  291.  After all files have been tagged press
  292.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  293.  files.
  294.  
  295. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  296.  This option will display the master
  297.  comment record and the file comment
  298.  records for the selected compressed
  299.  file.
  300.  
  301. *altx  !!extract all!!
  302.  This option will extract ALL files from
  303.  the compressed file into the current
  304.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  305.  the ALT-P command.
  306.  
  307. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  308.  This option allows run a program against
  309.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  310.  to enter the program name to run, the
  311.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  312.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  313.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  314.  to pause after each execution of your
  315.  program.
  316.  
  317. *altz  !!virus check!!
  318.  This option will check files to see if they
  319.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  320.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  321.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  322.  and have used the configuration program to
  323.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  325.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  326.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  328. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  329.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  330.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  331.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  332.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  333.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  334.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  335.  compressed file contents screen.
  336.  
  337. *c  !!create-new!!
  338.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  339.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  340.  to enter the
  341.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  342.  compressed file to create, whether you
  343.  want to add or move files into the new
  344.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  345.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  346.  new compressed file.
  347.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  348.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  349.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  350.  PAK files!!!!!
  351.  
  352.  You will also be asked if you want to
  353.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  354.  the entered file spec as is.
  355.  
  356.  If the compression program you choose
  357.  supports saving path information you will
  358.  also be asked if you want to save
  359.  directory information, and if you want to
  360.  recurse the directory tree.
  361.  
  362.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  363.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  364.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  365.  information that can be stored inside the
  366.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  367.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  368.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  369.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  370.  
  371.  
  372. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  373.  This option will delete all tagged files
  374.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  375.  asked to verify the delete before the
  376.  files are actually deleted from the
  377.  compressed file.
  378.  
  379. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  380.  This option will extract all tagged
  381.  files from the compressed file.
  382.  
  383. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  384.  This option will activate the alternate
  385.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  386.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  387.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  388.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  389.  
  390. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  391.  This option will set the compressed
  392.  file's time and date to the time and
  393.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  394.  the compressed file.
  395.  
  396. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  397.  This option will untag all currently
  398.  tagged files.
  399.  
  400. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  401.  This option will tag all files in the
  402.  currently displayed window.
  403.  
  404. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  405.  This option will convert a self
  406.  extracting file back to its native
  407.  compressed file format. The self
  408.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  409.  The normal compressed file will be
  410.  built on the same drive and directory
  411.  where self extracting file is found.
  412.  
  413. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  414.  This option allows you to copy all
  415.  tagged files from the current compressed
  416.  file into another compressed file.  The
  417.  target compressed file may be any
  418.  currently supported format.
  419.  
  420. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  421.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  422.  drop you off into disk and directory
  423.  that is specified as the extract
  424.  location.
  425.  
  426. *d  !!delete one file!!
  427.  This option will delete the currently
  428.  highlighted file from the compressed
  429.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  430.  delete before the delete is actually
  431.  done.
  432.  
  433. *e  !!extract one file!!
  434.  This option will extract the currently
  435.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  436.  drive and directory, or the
  437.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  438.  the ALT-P command.
  439.  
  440. *f      !!freshen!!
  441.  Using this option you can specify the
  442.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  443.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  444.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  445.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  446.  extensions.
  447.  
  448. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  449.  This option will temporarily exit to
  450.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  451.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  452.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  453.  the return key.
  454.  
  455. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  456.  This option will temporarily exit to
  457.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  458.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  459.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  460.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  461.  
  462. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  463.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  464.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  465.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  466.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  467.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  468.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  469.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  470.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  471.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  472.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  473.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  474.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  475.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  476.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  477.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  478.  
  479. *f8  !!edit!!
  480.  This option will allow you to edit a
  481.  file in the compressed file.  This
  482.  option will only work if you specified
  483.  an editor to use when you configured
  484.  compressedPER.
  485.  
  486. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  487.  Using this option you can specify how
  488.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  489.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  490.  Extension, Date, Size, or Unsorted.
  491.  
  492. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  493.  This option will allow you to set the
  494.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  495.  programs.  When you set the compression
  496.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  497.  change it again.
  498.  
  499.  
  500. *g  !!password!!
  501.  This option allows you to specify the password
  502.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  503.  compression program does not support passwords
  504.  an error window will appear informing you that
  505.  the option is not supported.
  506.  
  507. *i  !!show info!!
  508.  This option will show information about
  509.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  510.  files in file, total size of all files,
  511.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  512.  
  513. *m     !!mode!!
  514.  Using this option you can specify the
  515.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  516.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  517.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  518.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  519.  extensions.
  520.  
  521. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  522.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  523.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  524.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  525.  the compressed display heading line.
  526.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  527.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  528.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  529.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  530.  
  531. *p  !!path options!!
  532.  This option allows you to specify if you
  533.  want to save and/or use path information
  534.  when working with compressed files.
  535.  
  536. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  537.  This option will immediately exit
  538.  SHEZ.
  539.  
  540. *r  !!run a file!!
  541.  This option will extract and run the
  542.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  543.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  544.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  545.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  546.  deleted.
  547.  
  548. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  549.  This option allows you to add and or
  550.  update the comment records associated
  551.  with the currently highlighted file.
  552.  
  553. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  554.  This option allows you to add and or
  555.  update the comment records assocaited
  556.  with each file in the compressed file.
  557.  
  558. *t  !!test compressed!!
  559.  This option will test the integrity of
  560.  the compressed file.
  561.  
  562. *u       !!update!!
  563.  Using this option you can specify the
  564.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  565.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  566.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  567.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  568.  extensions.
  569.  
  570. *v  !!view!!
  571.  This option will allow you to view the
  572.  contents of a file in the compressed
  573.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  574.  to view the file.
  575.  
  576. *z  !!mask!!
  577.  This option allows you to specify a file
  578.  mask to be used when displaying the
  579.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  580.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  581.  only the files having an extension of C
  582.  will be displayed on the screen.
  583.  
  584. *maltd !!view 4dos!!
  585.  This option will display the 4DOS or
  586.  NDOS file descriptions that are
  587.  maintained by the DESCRIBE command.
  588.  SHEZ can only handle a description
  589.  file that is 30,000 bytes or less.
  590.  
  591. *maltu !!update/add 4dos!!
  592.  This option allows you to update/add
  593.  NDOS/4DOS file descriptions to the
  594.  highlighted file.
  595.  This option only functions if you
  596.  are running under NDOS/4DOS.
  597.  
  598. *mtab !!open second file window!!
  599.  When the DOS directory window is
  600.  displayed, pressing the TAB key will
  601.  open a secondary directory display
  602.  window.  You may view other directories
  603.  and/or drives while this window is
  604.  open.  Pressing the TAB key again is
  605.  the only way to close the secondary
  606.  display window.
  607.  
  608. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  609.  This option will invoke the editor that
  610.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  611.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  612.  the editor.
  613.  
  614. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  615.  This option will delete all files that
  616.  have been tagged in the file window.
  617.  After all the files are deleted the file
  618.  window will be refreshed.
  619.  
  620. *mf3  !!view file!!
  621.  This option allows you to view the
  622.  highlighted file.
  623.  
  624. *mf4  !!delete file/dir!!
  625.  This option allows you to delete the
  626.  highlighted file/dir.  You will be
  627.  prompted to verify the delete.
  628.  
  629. *mf5  !!file stats!!
  630.  This option will display the highlighted
  631.  file's time,date,and size.
  632.  
  633. *mf6  !!toggle $.$ *.*!!
  634.  This option will toggle the DOS files to
  635.  display between the $.$ specification
  636.  and the *.* specification.
  637.  
  638. *mf9  !!file sort!!
  639.  This option will sort the file list by
  640.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  641.  File size, or unsorted, depending on how
  642.  you reply to the sort prompt. Enter a N,
  643.  E, D, S or U.
  644.  
  645. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  646.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  647.  the highlighted file.
  648.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  649.  from all tagged files.
  650.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are
  651.  currently supported)

  712.  configuration program to tell SHEZ where
